Joey Kay was someone who showed up for people. He made others feel like they mattered, brought people together, and lived with a kind of steady kindness that left a lasting mark on everyone around him.
After losing Joey in 2024, the JK12 Foundation was created to carry that spirit forward. Through giving back and bringing people together through events like the 305 Sprint Car Memorial Race, we are turning that loss into lasting impact.
A Legacy That Shows Up
What began as a journey of healing has grown into something bigger: a movement that is rooted in purpose and connection the way Joey lived every day.
Inspired by his unwavering kindness, steady presence, and open heart, the 5013c JK12 Foundation was created to carry Joey Kays' legacy forward through action. The foundation supports meaningful causes, gives back to those in need, and brings people together through events like the 2026 Memorial Race, we strive to create lasting impact one person, one moment, one act of generosity at a time.
Together, we were able to donate $5,000 to NOVA (Network of Victim Assistance), an organization that provided critical support to Joey’s family and loved ones during an incredibly difficult time. What began as a memorial has grown into something meaningful and lasting, made possible by a community that continues to show up with generosity, compassion, and love.

Memorial Race
​The JK12 Foundation, in partnership with the Mid-AtlanticSprint Series (MASS), is proud to host the 2nd Annual Joey Kay JK12 Memorial Race, a 305 sprint car event, on June 12th and 13th at Bridgeport Speedway.
This event is more than a race. It is a celebration of Joey’s life, the racing community he loved, and the impact we can create together. What started as a way to honor him has grown into a powerful weekend that brings people together and turns that energy into meaningful support for others.
