The JK12 Joey Kay Memorial Race is more than a weekend at the track. It is a celebration of Joey’s passion for racing, his generosity, and the community he helped bring together.

Joey was a proud part of the dirt track racing world, competing in the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series in his No. 12 sprint car. He was known not just for how he drove, but for the way he showed up. With heart, sportsmanship, and a genuine care for the people around him.
What began as a way to honor his life has grown into something bigger. A meaningful event that reflects the values Joey lived by: passion, connection, and giving back.
This race brings together drivers, fans, sponsors, and friends with a shared purpose. Through the mission of the JK12 Foundation, it turns remembrance into action, creating real impact beyond the track. It is a reminder of the power of community and what is possible when people come together in Joey’s name.
Why It Matters
Every lap turned and every ticket purchased helps fuel the mission of the JK12 Foundation.
In our first year, the Memorial Race helped support a $5,000 donation to NOVA, an organization that provided support during an incredibly difficult time.
In 2026, our goal is to donate $15,000, expanding our ability to give back to the racing community and local causes that need it most.
This race is how we turn a moment into something that continues to make a difference.

With the incredible support of our 2025 race sponsors, everyone who bought a t-shirt and all who donated, the JK12 Foundation was able to make it's very first donation.

Together, we were able to donate $5,000 to NOVA (Network of Victim Assistance), an organization that provided critical support to Joey’s family and loved ones during an incredibly difficult time. What began as a memorial has grown into something meaningful and lasting, made possible by a community that continues to show up with generosity, compassion, and love. We are honored to give back in Joey’s name and invite you to learn more about NOVA and the important work they do.
